Who could apply for a Lendumi loan?

Lendumi Everyday is for people who are 18 or older and live in South Africa. They need a valid South African identity document, regular income that can be verified, and a South African bank account in their own name. They also need access to their own cellphone, and enough left after essential expenses and existing debts to afford the repayment. Meeting the entry requirements does not by itself qualify you for a loan. A credit and affordability assessment decides that, and it can decline an application or offer less than the amount requested. Lendumi does not lend to anyone under debt review.

  • Are 18 or older and resident in South Africa.
  • Have a valid South African identity document.
  • Receive regular income that can be verified.
  • Have a South African bank account in their own name.
  • Can access their own cellphone.
  • Can afford the repayment after essential expenses and existing debts.

The “Continue to partner” button on this page opens our partner’s website, where the application is made. The partner confirms eligibility, price and terms, and Lendumi may be paid if you take up an offer there.

What does affordability mean?

Income alone is not enough. Affordability compares what you earn with rent, food, transport, utilities, dependants and other credit commitments. What is left must cover the full repayment on its due date without pushing an essential cost aside. The cost guide shows what the repayment would include.

Which kinds of income need a closer look?

Self-employment, irregular earnings, pensions and social grants are looked at individually in the affordability assessment. Do not assume that a given income source qualifies. And do not treat a support conversation as an affordability assessment.

When should you not apply?

Do not rely on a new loan if you would have to borrow again to repay it, or miss an essential cost to meet it. If the debt you already have is hard to manage, read the repayment-support guide, and consider a debt counsellor registered with the NCR instead.

Getting ready without sharing documents

Read the document checklist, check that your own contact and banking details are current, and see how bank and income verification works. This website never asks for ID documents, bank statements or banking credentials; share them only inside the secure application.
