Access to records under PAIA
The Promotion of Access to Information Act lets you ask a private body for a record you need to exercise or protect a right. Ask compliance@lendumi.co.za for Lendumi’s PAIA manual before you prepare a request. A manual names an organisation’s request contact, the records it holds and how to ask for access. Those details are specific to each organisation, and they matter when you prepare a request.
Preparing an access request
For a private body, name the record you want. Explain the right you need to exercise or protect, and why that record is needed for it. Use the prescribed Form 2. Check the recipient through the organisation’s manual, or through a verified contact, before you send anything.
Official forms and guidance
The Information Regulator’s PAIA page holds the guide and the forms: Form 2 for access requests, Form 3 for outcomes and fees, and Form 5 for complaints. Guidance is published in several South African languages. Check the current instructions and time limits for your situation. For personal-information requests, rather than access to records, start with the privacy-request guide.
Contact information
Send PAIA requests, and requests for the manual, to compliance@lendumi.co.za for the attention of the Information Officer. Wait for the reply before you send identity documents.
