What does DebiCheck confirm?
DebiCheck lets you confirm debit-order details electronically with your bank, which keeps the agreed mandate details and checks collections against them. The mandate is separate from your credit agreement. Before approving a request, check the collecting company and agreement reference. Compare the amount or collection parameters with what you agreed, and check the collection date and frequency. Ask about anything you do not recognise. Approving a mandate authorises collection under its terms. It does not prove that a loan was approved or that money has been paid out, so check the separate payment update and your own account. If a request expires or changes, check its status through your bank’s official channel and read the details again. Never share a bank OTP with someone who offers to confirm it for you. Stopping a debit order does not, on its own, end the credit agreement or clear the debt.
Before you approve a request
- The collecting company and the agreement reference.
- The amount or collection parameters, against what you agreed.
- The collection date and frequency.
- Anything you do not recognise — ask before approving.
What if a request expires or changes?
Use your bank’s official channel to check its status. If a fresh request is needed, read the details again rather than approving from memory. No one legitimate needs your bank OTP to confirm a mandate for you.
Stopping a collection
Ask your bank about the relevant mandate controls and raise any dispute with the creditor. Stopping a debit order does not end the underlying credit agreement or clear a debt, so ask about repayment support instead if the problem is affordability, or about a different payment date if the problem is timing.
A confirmed mandate is not a payout · how the repayment works.
